Thomas K. Ledbetter

Tom Ledbetter, an associate with Ruben & Sjolander’s Los Angeles office, is a member of the firm’s Estate Planning and Consumer Litigation practice groups. Within the Estate Planning practice group, his practice emphasizes estate and tax planning, preventing inheritance conflicts among family members, probate, and trust administration.
For the Consumer Litigation practice group, Mr. Ledbetter serves the interests of the firm’s clients in defense of consumer, class and representative actions. Representative clients include General Motors Company, Saab Cars, U.S.A., Inc., Hyundai Motor America, Workhorse Custom Chassis, LLC, Saturn Corporation, and GMAC.
Prior to joining Ruben & Sjolander, Mr. Ledbetter was an associate with a leading national litigation and trial law firm, where he similarly practiced in the firms Consumer Litigation group.
Representative matters include defense of Toyota Motor Sales, U.S.A., Inc. at trial in a matter where Toyota’s product was under attack as have an ineffective design of its manual transmission shifting mechanism and defense of General Motors Corporation in claims alleging violation of the Song-Beverly Consumer Warranty Act (the state’s lemon law).
During law school, Mr. Ledbetter was Lead Associate Editor of the Law Review and was published in the school’s quarterly journal. Mr. Ledbetter was also an extern for the Los Angeles Superior Court and the United States District Court, Central Division.
